Abdominal Massage

Abdominal Massage is an experience of deeper healing and relaxation.  Clinical Visceral Massage Therapy focuses to release restrictions and adhesions in the visceral fascia and organs through gentle palpation and manipulation.

First and foremost this form of massage therapy speaks directly to the enteric (gastrointestinal tract) and autonomic (involuntary actions such as breath) nervous systems of the body, optimizing the health and well-being of the digestive, elimination and reproductive systems.

A belly-centered massage lends the healing advantage to back and hip pain, insomnia, shortened breath, anxiety, stress as well as reduction of scar tissue related to abdominal surgeries.  Post partum moms receiving abdominal massage report feeling as though they have their belly back and that clothing fits a bit better.  Blood, lymph and qi circulation within the abdomen are enhanced, creating a more vibrant you.

Janet skillfully works within the physical and energy bodies to direct treatments for individual client needs.

A bit more about
Post Partum:

No matter if baby was born 6 weeks ago or 32 years ago, Clinical Visceral Massage Therapy is helpful for any woman who has given birth.

As our little sprouts grow, the organs must shift out of the way to create space for baby, therefore giving up space for themselves. Thankfully they are incredibly smart organs and still do their job but the months of being restricted can cause adhesions that hamper the proper movement of the organs. Their very job requires moving and sliding for proper digestion, elimination, monthly cycle and breath.

Also, abdominal massage is amazing for relieving stress and goes a long way in assisting sleep and anxiety, not to mention back, hip, knee and neck pain.  I have even heard that mom’s pants fit better after treatment.
